Director – Tax Quality     The opportunity   As our Tax practice continues to evolve, we are seeking an experienced Director to join the Oceania Tax Quality team.   This is a unique leadership opportunity for a senior Tax professional with deep Quality & Risk Management experience who is passionate about professional standards, governance and practice excellence. Working closely with Tax leadership across Oceania, you will provide strategic advice on tax policies and procedures, legal practitioner arrangements, regulatory obligations and risk management frameworks that support the delivery of high-quality client service.   You will play a key role in shaping the governance environment of the Tax practice, leading responses to emerging risks and regulatory developments, and driving strategic initiatives that strengthen quality and compliance across the business.   This is a hybrid position that could be based in any EY office within the Oceania region . Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.   Your key responsibilities

Advising Tax leaders and engagement teams on tax policies, procedures, professional standards and complex quality and risk matters. Leading the development and implementation of risk and governance frameworks across the Oceania Tax practice. Managing relationships with regulators, professional bodies and internal stakeholders, including matters relating to legal practitioner arrangements. Leading strategic projects and regulatory initiatives, including the implementation of emerging compliance requirements such as AML reforms.

Skills and attributes for success

Extensive experience in Tax together with significant Quality & Risk Management experience in a professional services, legal, regulatory or similar environment. Strong understanding of professional standards, governance, regulatory obligations and risk management frameworks. Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide strategic advice on complex and sensitive matters. Exceptional communication, relationship management and leadership skills, with the ability to drive practice-wide outcomes.
