About this role
Role
Overview Amazon Web Services is seeking a Technical Program Manager to support infrastructure growth initiatives. In this role, you will lead cross-functional teams to drive the implementation and deployment of completed designs, while developing and documenting requirements, budgets, and project schedules. Key Responsibilities - Leading cross-functional, matrix-based teams across multiple time zones - Facilitating technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot implementation issues and remove barriers to project success - Managing capital budgets and eliminating non-value-add activities - Designing solutions and finding creative ways to accelerate project delivery - Demonstrating proficiency in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, risk management, reporting, and metric development/tracking About You We welcome candidates with end-to-end program management experience across the full data center lifecycle — from due diligence through design, construction, and commissioning on greenfield projects. However, we also recognize that exceptional talent comes in many forms. If you bring a proven track record of delivering results in complex, technical environments — even without direct data center experience or full-lifecycle program management exposure — we encourage you to apply. What matters most is your ability to drive outcomes at scale, navigate ambiguity, and bring a unique strength that elevates the team. If you are passionate about deploying highly technical and innovative projects at massive scale, we encourage you to apply. Key job responsibilities - Own and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of complex, cross-functional data center infrastructure programs — from due diligence and design through construction, commissioning, and handover. - Define program strategy, set clear objectives, and drive crisp decisions on project priorities and resource allocation across multiple teams and geographies. - Lead cross-functional teams across multiple time zones; facilitate technical discussions to align business and technical stakeholder needs. - Identify and mitigate risks proactively. Navigate ambiguity, make smart trade-offs (time vs. scope vs. cost vs. long-term impact), and find creative paths forward to accelerate delivery. - Understand data center technology interdependencies (power, cooling, deployment constraints, design limitations) and use technical judgment to question proposals and provide feedback to engineering teams. - Manage capital budgets, create plans with measurable success criteria, and track program metrics against cost, schedule, quality, and scope commitments. - Streamline and eliminate excess process, drive efficiencies, and force multiply across teams. - Communicate effectively to audiences including Directors and VPs through clear narratives and program documents. - Actively mentor and develop others, participate in hiring, and contribute to the organization.
