Join a dynamic team within the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB)’s Community Development Banking group, where you’ll help drive the success of the Historic Tax Credit initiative. As a Structured Finance Manager in Community Development Banking, you’ll collaborate with experts across business lines – including affordable housing and new market tax credits – gaining exposure to a variety of commercial real estate financing structures. This role centers on asset and risk management of the historic tax credit portfolio, offering experience with complex transactions and opportunities to broaden your knowledge of other tax credit programs (LIHTC, energy and more). Your formal title will reflect experience and contributions.
Job Responsibilities
Analyze and evaluate project reporting, including rent rolls, financials, and tax returns to inform investment decisions and ensure compliance. Monitor and report on development execution from construction through lease-up and stabilization, helping ensure milestones, schedules and deliverables remain on track. Selectively support the preparation of Investment Committee and quarterly review materials, including presentations, memos and supporting packages. Calculate, reconcile and track capital contributions and investment performance/returns over the life of each transaction. Foster relationships with developers, property managers, accountants and attorneys and participate in site visits as assigned. Partner with colleagues to conduct project feasibility assessments by reviewing due diligence materials such as financial statements, market studies/appraisals, operating assumptions, financial models, capital stack sources, construction documents, and other related diligence. Contribute to new initiatives and participate in special projects that help shape the future of the platform. Required qualifications, capabilities and skills: 3+ years of experience in commercial real estate, with a background in credit analysis and/or financial modeling Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills Highly detail-oriented with strong accuracy and follow-through Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation capability Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines Proficiency in MS Office programs. Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, real estate, or related field. Familiarity with multi-family commercial real estate transaction fundamentals Experience reviewing real estate finance models Interest in deepening knowledge across the investment lifecycle of tax credit programs, including HTC, LIHTC, and Energy.
