Primary Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy scalable end-to-end AI/ML solutions for complex business problems Own the full model lifecycle including data preparation, feature engineering, model development, evaluation, and production deployment Build and optimize ML pipelines and workflows for scalability, reliability, and performance Develop advanced AI solutions using techniques such as NLP, deep learning, predictive modeling, and Generative AI Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to translate requirements into AI-driven solutions Integrate AI/ML models into enterprise applications and production systems Implement and manage MLOps practices including CI/CD, monitoring, retraining, and version control Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve model performance in production environments Contribute to reusable frameworks, libraries, and engineering best practices Communicate technical designs, trade-offs, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders Stay updated with emerging AI/ML technologies and apply them to drive innovation Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so Required Qualifications: Graduate degree or equivalent experience Experience with NLP, Large Language Models (LLMs), or Generative AI use cases Experience building enterprise-grade AI systems with solid reliability and governance requirements Experience mentoring junior engineers or owning small modules/projects Knowledge of Responsible AI practices including fairness, explainability, and bias mitigation Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks such as Spark or Ray At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
