Job Description
The Senior Technical Product Manager ( SDN ) is responsible for driving SDN architecture and delivering scalable, production-ready reference designs, including L4–L7 network services . This role leads cross‑functional efforts to define, document, and validate SDN solutions that meet stringent performance, scale, security, and reliability requirements across enterprise and service provider environments . This position works closely with engineering, architecture, field teams, partners, and customers to ensure SDN solutions are practical, consumable, and deployable at scale. The TPM translates customer needs, operational best practices, and product capabilities into clear, actionable guidance that accelerates adoption and enables operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Architectural Leadership Drive SDN architecture strategy and deliver scalable reference architectures, design patterns, and implementation guides , including L4–L7 services such as load balancing, firewalling, NAT, and ADC. Define and document end‑to‑end SDN solution designs spanning virtualization platforms, private cloud architectures, and network virtualization stacks. Translate complex distributed systems into clear diagrams, workflows, and step‑by‑step deployment patterns for internal and external consumption. Define and validate non‑functional requirements , including availability, performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency. Ensure architectures are production‑ready , support advanced network services, and scale across on‑prem, hybrid, and edge environments. Product Strategy & Execution Lead and drive the end‑to‑end product strategy and operational roadmap for one or more SDN ‑related products or solution areas. Define the value proposition, target customer segments, and business case for innovative and disruptive networking and virtualization solutions. Synthesize market requirements (MRD) into detailed product and customer guidance, leveraging deep customer insight, industry expertise, and business acumen. Advise key stakeholders on portfolio and lifecycle strategy across planning, development, launch, management, and end‑of‑life phases. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, sales, marketing, supply chain, and partners to ensure solutions are technically sound, easy to consume, and aligned with overall product strategy. Drive alignment across the product value chain to optimize margins, enable successful launches, and execute effective go‑to‑market strategies. Provide technical enablement and product‑specific training to field, partners, and internal teams.
