About this role
We help the world run better At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed. For this role, your purpose is to enable effective and efficient delivery of cloud services, with a focus on service uptime, performance, and scalability. You'll connect product reliability engineering with scaled-out cloud portfolio operations, applying strong knowledge of cloud products and contributing to harmonized cloud delivery across SAP's cloud services portfolio. What changes across levels is the scope of ownership, the systems you're responsible for, and the degree to which you set direction versus execute it. What you'll bring: You have strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms, automation, CI/CD pipelines, scripting, and infrastructure tooling, and you can design and improve operational workflows. A practical understanding of cloud architecture, platform systems, identity and access management, database concepts, and observability in production environments is required. Experience supporting or leading incident management, root cause analysis, and proactive reliability improvements is expected. An AI adoption capability with exposure to agentic AI practices, context engineering, and validating AI-generated outputs is part of what you'll bring. Solid problem-solving skills and proficiency in programming or scripting languages, test automation, and troubleshooting round out the profile. What you'll build: You'll design, develop, and automate infrastructure and delivery workflows aligned with best practices. CI/CD pipelines are yours to build, operate, and continuously improve, with the goal of reducing deployment cycles and raising software quality. System performance, availability, and scalability are things you'll monitor, and you'll be expected to identify issues proactively and incorporate incident learnings into future work. Working with engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth, frequent software delivery is a regular expectation. The role also connects product engineering and reliability engineering, supporting harmonized cloud delivery and operations across SAP's cloud services portfolio. Where you belong: You'll work across global, cross-functional engineering teams and be expected to take real ownership of your work. This isn't a passive learning environment. The team values shared knowledge, direct feedback, and people who take initiative on problems rather than waiting for guidance. If you want to build your DevOps skills on live cloud infrastructure at significant scale, this is where that kind of learning happens.
