Job Title Senior Lease Auditor Job Description Summary Provide direct support to commercial brokerage teams by delivering lease audit and lease administration services to their clients, often serving as an integral member of the client’s real estate team. Responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing lease documents, performing desktop audits of reconciliations and operating expense statements as well as full-scope audits, in accordance with lease terms, and responding to client-specific inquiries. This role works closely with local brokerage teams and supports a multitude of accounts. The position also provides as-needed support to the Senior Director on broader portfolio administration functions and oversees day-to-day client-level activities, acting as the primary point of contact for clients, brokers, and senior leadership Job Description Essential functions and responsibilities Review client invoices in conjunction with lease requirements and collect proper supporting back up documentation from landlords/billing and real estate tax authorities and confirm all calculations are correct. Conduct desktop audits of Year-End Common Area Maintenance (CAM), Insurance, and Real Estate Tax reconciliations, interpret, and analyze all charges for accuracy, in accordance with lease documents. Directly responsible for dispute resolution with landlords for any identified discrepancies and the recovery of overcharges, followed by direct communication with our Clients once all charges have been fully resolved and approved. Responsible for ensuring the financial obligations of our Clients are accurate and that the monthly rents are processed in a timely manner. Communicate frequently with internal brokers and external partners. Notify client of critical audit dates, real estate policies and procedures, and assist with general inquiries. Update and maintain all lease information and data in our technology information systems. Establish and maintain client files. Regularly exercises good judgment and logic in responding to inquiries from the client and/or landlords. Ensure that productive landlord relationships are maintained in accordance with the lease agreements. Able to manage multiple projects/priorities in a fast-paced environment. Stay up to date on the latest industry standards and trends. Key Competencies Customer Service Skills Communication Proficiency (oral and written) Organization Skills Analytical Skills Technical Proficiency Research Skills Detail Oriented Interpersonal Skills Sense of Urgency education   High School diploma or GED required Bachelor’s Degree preferred in any field; business, finance/real estate, accounting ideal CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation a plus additional eligibility qualifications 7-10+ years of experience in lease auditing/administration, property management or related field. Expertise in cost analysis, gross up calculations, review of ledgers, contracts, and other financial books and records Ability to understand and interpret complex real estate lease terminology Proven record of providing excellent internal and external client service; experience in a professional services firm preferred Proven record of negotiating landlord audit findings, recovery opportunities, lease interpretation disputes Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Strong interpersonal, written/verbal communication skills WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment.
