As a  Lifecycle Product Engineer , you have the responsibility for designing and managing the complex engineering systems within the Trane product lines.  You will collaborate with cross-functional teams over multiple disciplines with an objective to discover problems that need to be resolved and then find innovative solutions to those problems.

What you will do

Apply interdisciplinary engineering expertise to solve design and product problems. Support designers with equipment technical details. Support factory and field problem resolution. Conduct laboratory testing as required. Analyze the test result data, perform refrigeration cycle review, heat transfer calculations and prepare reports. Understanding and familiarity of drafting practices, methods and processes, including GD&T, welding, sheet metal, castings, machining and dimension and tolerance analysis. Demonstrate responsiveness to the customer (internal and external) and be quality minded in performance of all duties. Develop and deliver technical presentations for engineering review. Deliver technical designs to meet project and product requirements.

What you will bring

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related technical discipline) and at least 2-years work experience contributing to technical aspects of product design projects, validation testing, root cause analysis and/or manufacturing is required. Key Competencies:  Understand HVAC system functions including refrigeration, heat transfer, airflow and ventilation.  Excellent analytical, mathematical, project management and problem-solving skills.  Ability to quickly and efficiently understand and organize information necessary to make engineering decisions.  Ability to make progress by completing tasks and deliverables in a multi-tasking environment (several concurrent assignments) on time.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to communicate up, down, and across the organization.  Windchill software or equivalent PLM (Product lifecycle management software) experience.   Working knowledge of relevant computer applications (CADD: Computer Aided Design/Drafting).
