This position does not offer relocation assistance.    Job Summary

The Labor Relations Specialist independently supports and administers the organization’s labor relations programs, serving as a key resource to management, employees, and labor representatives. This role applies working knowledge of labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and employee relations best practices to manage day-to-day labor relations activities and more complex issues. Specific duties include:

Contributes to arbitration preparation, investigations, and dispute resolution while supporting constructive labor–management relationships across union and non-union facilities. Participates in collective bargaining processes, interprets and applies contract provisions, monitors compliance, and manages grievance and disciplinary matters through resolution. Leverages working knowledge of employment legislation, labor agreements, and best practices in labor relations.  Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

2-3+ years of related experience in labor relations or human resources or related field.  Note:  A Master's degree will count as one year of experience towards the experience requirement.  A partial year of six months or more experience will be rounded up to one year. Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:

Demonstrated knowledge of labor laws, collective bargaining principles  Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills Knowledge in project management, analysis or investigations skills Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion Ability to establish constructive   working relationships internally Ability to establish constructive  working relationships  with union leaders

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor   Preferred Disciplines:  Labor Relations, Business Administration, Human Resources, Liberal Arts   Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above  Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
