Under the direction of a radiologist, performs radiographic procedures at technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. Assumes daily operational responsibility for designated area as required.

The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Taking high quality images as requested by ordering providers: Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking x-rays following established procedures and protocols Instructs patients regarding procedures. Observes patients for vital signs during examination and places patient safety number one Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis
