The Lead Software Engineer / Technical Lead will serve as a key technical leader within Patient Safety IT, responsible for architecting, delivering, and operating technology solutions that enable critical Pharmacovigilance capabilities including signal detection, safety case processing, aggregate reporting, and risk management across existing and emerging Patient Safety products and platforms. This role combines deep engineering expertise, business alignment, and Engineering & Operations ownership, with accountability for translating complex Patient Safety requirements into scalable, secure, compliant, and high-performing digital solutions. The incumbent will provide technical leadership across the full solution lifecycle — design, build, deployment, operations, and continuous improvement — while partnering closely with Product Managers, Architects, Validation, Quality, and global business stakeholders. The role requires strong technical judgment, the ability to influence architecture and delivery decisions across teams, and a commitment to driving measurable improvements in patient safety outcomes, operational efficiency, and platform reliability in a highly regulated life sciences environment. Desired Candidate Characteristics:  Demonstrates the ability to lead through influence , align cross-functional teams, and drive technical decisions in a global matrixed organization. Balances technical depth with business acumen , ensuring that solution choices are grounded in Patient Safety priorities, compliance needs, and long-term platform sustainability. Brings a service ownership mindset , with strong focus on operational excellence, reliability, observability, and continuous improvement. Ability to simplify complexity , translating highly specialized pharmacovigilance and engineering requirements into scalable, practical, and user-centred solutions. Comfortable challenging the status quo and championing modern engineering, automation, AI-assisted development, and quality-by-design practices where appropriate. Demonstrates a strong bias for action, sound decision-making, and accountability in managing both delivery commitments and production stability . Understanding of PV processes (signal management, risk management, safety reporting etc.) along with GxP compliance and validation practices Strong ability to understand business priorities and translate them into high-impact, user-centric, and sustainable solutions that drive adoption and measurable value Key Responsibilities Partner with Patient Safety Product Managers, business stakeholders, and PV subject matter experts to translate complex business requirements into scalable digital capabilities that improve the timeliness, quality, and effectiveness of key pharmacovigilance processes Define and drive the technical direction, architecture standards, and engineering patterns for Patient Safety platforms within scope. Lead technical design decisions and trade-off discussions across applications, integrations, workflows, and cloud-native services to ensure scalability,
