Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines. Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical systems such as thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines. Must Have

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 9 years of experience -or- Master of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 7 years of experience -or PHD in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 4 year of experience Nice to Have

Machinery engineering experience and knowledge of systems for the LHA Class.  Ability to develop presentations and speak/present to senior leadership, both internally and externally.  Strong understanding of ship specifications, government specifications, and how they integrate into our design products.  Experience developing and implementing modifications for complex machinery, including waivers, condition reports, procurement specifications, etc.  Knowledge of machinery systems onboard the LHA Class Navy Ships.  Review Government/Vendor Furnished Information and coordinate with Engineering/Design team to validate technical information and insure proper design is accomplished.  Ability to work with waterfront personal on the ship/deckplates on resolving issues that arise during installations.• Ability to work with the Navy Ship Design Management teams on new/upcoming changes to ensure proper integration efforts are considered during scoping/proposal efforts.
