This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence.
This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk.
Our Company Planning and Programs team focuses on creating alignment and clarity around our near- and long-term strategy at Okta. We are the connective tissue that ensures our top-level company methods and functional plans are translated into clear, actionable, and trackable initiatives.
We are looking for a versatile, highly adaptable Programs and Planning Specialist to join our team in a hybrid capacity. In this role, you will balance your time between driving our strategic planning rhythms (~60%) and acting as a flexible Project Manager (~40%) who can parachute into cross-functional initiatives as needs arise.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in ambiguity, possesses high EQ, and loves both the high-level strategic alignment and the on-the-ground execution of getting things done.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Operations (~60%)
• Planning Cycles: Support the execution of our annual and quarterly planning cycles (e.g., annual planning preparation, Quarterly Portfolio Updates / QPUs), ensuring clear communication and milestone tracking across stakeholders.
• Operational Rhythm: Assist in the coordination of ongoing leadership alignments, tracking action items for key strategic initiatives, and ensuring cross-functional visibility into company progress.
• Reporting & Documentation: Help maintain and streamline operational documentation, reporting dashboards, and presentation materials for executive reviews.
Flexible Project Management (~40%)
• Flex PM Support: Step in to lead and manage smaller, high-priority projects and initiatives across the Company Operations ecosystem when extra bandwidth is needed.
• Program Execution: Support internal change management efforts, internal team programs, or community initiatives (such as volunteer days and operational training rollouts).
• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a central point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring timelines are met, risks are flagged, and cross-functional teams remain aligned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience: 2–3 years of proven experience in project management, program management, or strategic planning.
• Adaptability & Ambiguity: Highly comfortable operating in dynamic environments where priorities can shift; able to bring structure to ambiguous problems.
• Communication & EQ: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence. You can effectively collaborate with diverse teams and navigate complex stakeholder relationships.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: A track record of successfully partnering with various teams to drive shared outcomes.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Expertise in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Familiarity and comfort leveraging AI tools (such as Claude and/or Google Gemini) to enhance
