Job Summary
The Director, Corporate Communications will lead strategic communications efforts that strengthen employee engagement, elevate Spectacor visibility, and protect and enhance the organization’s brand reputation. Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications, this role will develop and execute integrated communications strategies that connect employees to company priorities, position senior leaders as credible and compelling voices, and ensure consistent messaging across internal and external channels. This leader will serve as a trusted communications advisor to executives and cross-functional partners, translating business priorities into clear, engaging narratives for employees, stakeholders, media, and community audiences. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, strategic counselor, and collaborative leader with experience managing complex communications programs in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities: Develop and execute comprehensive corporate communications strategies that support business priorities, organizational culture, brand reputation, and leadership visibility. Lead internal communications initiatives that inform, engage, and align employees around company strategy, priorities, human resources campaigns, milestones, culture, and change management efforts. Drive Spectacor positioning by developing key messages, speeches, talking points, presentations, employee messages, media materials, and thought leadership opportunities for senior leaders. Manage brand communications to ensure consistency of voice, tone, narrative, and visual identity across internal channels, executive platforms, external announcements, and stakeholder materials. Partner closely with Human Resources, Marketing, Government Relations, and business leaders to create integrated communications plans and aligned messaging. Develop and maintain effective employee communications channels, including newsletters, leader toolkits, town halls, organizational announcements, and other internal engagement platforms. Provide communications counsel and support during sensitive issues, change initiatives, reputation matters, and crisis situations, ensuring timely, accurate, and audience-appropriate messaging. Measure communications effectiveness through employee feedback, engagement data, channel performance, media insights, and stakeholder input; use findings to refine strategy and improve impact. Support proactive storytelling that reinforces the organization’s mission, values, business priorities, culture, community presence, and brand promise. Manage communications projects from planning through execution, ensuring deadlines, approvals, stakeholder needs, and quality standards are met.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with focus on Communication, Marketing or Business Administration preferred Generally requires 8+ years of communications experience, including internal communications, executive communications, brand management, public relations, crisis communications, or corporate affairs; prior people leadership or agency management experience preferred. Exceptional writing, editing, messaging, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone and content for employees, executives, media, and external stakeholders.
