Position Summary: The Waste Water Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the water treatment plant while serving as a working leader for water treatment personnel. This position ensures treatment processes operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory, environmental, and company requirements. The Team Lead provides guidance, training, and support to team members while promoting safety, compliance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
Water Treatment Operations Lead daily operation of the water treatment plant and coordinate workflow activities. Manage and track all chemical usage to ensure proper treatment processes and inventory control. Monitor and adjust treatment processes to ensure adherence to SOC guidelines and maximize operating efficiency. Manage, track, and report disposal of generated waste in accordance with environmental requirements. Monitor plant performance and identify process improvements to optimize efficiency and reliability. Assist with troubleshooting equipment, process issues, and operational concerns to minimize downtime.
Employee Leadership & Training
Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to water treatment personnel. Train employees on operating procedures, safety practices, environmental compliance requirements, and department expectations. Serve as the primary resource for operational questions and support. Assist with employee coaching, development, and performance feedback. Promote accountability, teamwork, and positive employee engagement within the department.
Safety & Compliance
Participate in and promote a safe work environment by enforcing all facility safety and compliance policies and procedures. Ensure employees and visitors adhere to all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. Identify, communicate, and address unsafe conditions or environmental concerns. Support housekeeping and workplace organization initiatives throughout the treatment area. Champion Human Performance (HP) principles and continuous safety improvement efforts.
Communication & Coordination
Work closely with the EHS Manager in ordering chemicals, supplies, and operational materials. Coordinate activities with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Environmental personnel to support plant operations. Communicate operational priorities, process changes, and treatment performance to management and team members. Maintain accurate operational records, chemical inventories, waste disposal documentation, and compliance reports.
Continuous Improvement
Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve treatment processes, chemical usage, efficiency, and compliance performance. Assist with implementation of standard work
