Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Human Resources Manager 2 to join our growing Human Resources (HR) team in McLean, Virginia or Linthicum, Maryland .  The selected candidate will lead a team of geographically dispersed HR professionals aligned to support the Weapons Integration and Mission Solutions (WIMS) Business unit, lead/manage the operating unit HRBP team, and partner collaboratively across peer HR Manager and HRBP teams.   The selected candidate will possess depth and breadth of knowledge across HR functions to include talent acquisition, talent management, succession planning, organizational effectiveness, compensation, and employee relations.  International experience and experience working in a matrix organization is a plus; demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, and coordinating with cross-functional relationships required.

Responsibilities

Establish strong business relationships with client leadership teams and create effective partnerships across HR, centers of excellence (COE’s), functional and P&L organizations Proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the organization and develop solutions in partnership with HR business partners, division, BU and OU leadership, and COEs Recommend and implement winning practices employed in the areas of talent acquisition, assessment, development, compensation, organizational effectiveness, strategy, onboarding, change management and communications Analyze and concisely present information to the management team to enable good business decisions Using data and analytics, develop solutions and insights to address current business issues and proactively engage in risk mitigation Leverage and partner with HR colleagues in talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, employee relations, global corporate responsibility and organizational effectiveness to support talent strategies Provide day-to-day people leadership of HRBP team and create an environment that accelerates development of HR talent; apply rigorous knowledge management to capture learning, drive continuous improvement, and enhance employee engagement Play a key change leadership role in the company’s continual transformation by creating a culture of growth, innovation and risk taking Partner with business leaders to build leadership depth to support the succession planning process. Support and enable leaders to make informed decisions about talent and to hold their organizations accountable for business results This position has significant senior leadership contact and requires a candidate with strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to perform in an environment of ambiguity and continuous change.  Position must role model Northrop leadership behaviors and have strong communication, executive presence and cross-cultural skills. This positive must effectively interact with a geographically disbursed senior leadership team and positively influence business growth from an organizational and talent perspective.
