Job Responsibilities
Design, document, and implement diagnostic algorithms, software, interfaces, and toolset solutions. Provide architectural direction for diagnostic systems and toolset capabilities, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with business and technical needs. Develop guided diagnostic procedures using a visual logic development environment and Agile methods. Own and evolve diagnostic toolset requirements, standards, and implementation approaches in collaboration with global stakeholders. Support manufacturing launch activities and cross-functional rollout efforts. Lead or contribute to major projects and complex technical problem solving. Create and review engineering specifications, requirements, architecture definitions, and technical documentation. Mentor others, support training needs, and contribute to technical roadmaps. Work with global teams to address worldwide requirements and local content. Collaborate closely with globally distributed teams, including Toolset EU, the Diagnostics team NA, and Vehicle Software Delivery ITD NA, to ensure alignment, effective coordination, and successful delivery of diagnostic solutions.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field 8+ years of experience with development and/or testing of onboard diagnostic software for semi trucks Experience with CAN, SAE J1939, LIN, and object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Ruby, or Swift. Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. Experience with data analysis, engineering tools, simulation, and test environments. Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Willingness to travel up to 5% domestically or internationally. Leadership experience mentoring others and running larger projects preferred. Experience with Agile Scrum, continuous improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma methods preferred. Active participation in professional organizations such as SAE, ASME, or IEEE preferred. Experience creating simplified
