Engineering Specialist - Customer Application Engineering

Collaborate with the best This is a gas turbine Application Engineer (GT AE), who leads the technical strategy of Baker Hughes Gas Turbines offering in agreement with the project team/functions. You will be the technical interface between customer and company during the Inquiry To Order (ITO) phase for Gas Turbine related topics. The key role of the GT AE is, coordinating with Other AE team, Commercial team and supporting functions, to translate customer’s needs, detailed in the RFQ (Request for Quotation), into the most competitive technical solution leveraging GT product portfolio and technology and negotiating with Customers clear and accurate technical contracts. You will be in charge of the preparation, management and negotiation of Baker Hughes technical proposal relevant to Gas Turbine and for the estimation/accuracy of the budget associated with the proposed solution, in more detail you will: ·        Leading the definition of the technical strategy of the project thus influencing customer towards Baker Hughes solutions by properly accounting for competitors’ technical strengths and weakness versus Baker Hughes offering/capabilities. ·        Assessing competition and holding relevant internal reviews to support commercial strategy. ·        Coordinating with functions to define Gas Turbine configuration selection, performances and manage eventual out of standard and/or novelty content. ·        Interfacing for Heady Duty & Aero JV request for quotation, technical definition, configuration model required and coordinate technical discussion on configurations and slotting for the relevant product. ·        Preparing, within the required timeline, the most competitive technical proposal using ITO tools and following ITO policies and procedures, implementing, where appropriate, innovative technology (NPD). ·        Applying product and quality policies, addressing and mitigating any risks as per Baker Hughes procedures. ·        Leading technical negotiation, coordinating with supporting functions and attending meeting/presentation with customers. ·        Hands-over the technical contract to execution team in case of award. Fuel your passion To be successful in this role you will: ·        Have a Bachelor or above in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering from an accredited school. ·        Have 5+ years Experience in Engineering, Application Engineering, Product management, Technical Sales, Customer Service or equivalent technical role with gas turbine background. ·        Be Fluent in English and Chinese (spoken and written). Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills. ·        Have great Influencing and leadership skills, good commercial acumen and the ability to travel on short notice. ·        Be flexible in working hours for interactions and meetings with customers and internal functions located around the globe with different time zones.
