Leidos Low Band System (LBS) program is seeking a talented Hydraulic and Mechanical Lead Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and test of hydraulic components and systems. LBS is a large, multi-phase radar program with concurrent development, test, production, and sustainment activities. As a member of the design team, you will be responsible for supporting and leading design, integration, and testing of components (hydraulic power units, cylinders, manifolds, piping, hoses, and controls) and hydraulic systems on both the transportable single panel demonstrator and a large stationary antenna array. This person will be responsible for hydraulic system architecture, component and system trades, bill of material development, specifications, 3D CAD modeling of hydraulic components and supporting structure, fabrication and integration drawings, hydraulic test planning and procedures, and hands-on integration and test support.  Additionally, the hydraulic subsystem lead engineer may support mechanical and thermal system tasks as needed. This role requires a seasoned technical contributor and leader, proficient in applying technical principles, theories, and concepts in hydraulics engineering, thermal management, structural design, and technical leadership.  You will be responsible for developing and proving out solutions to technical problems and issues that may be difficult or unclear while collaborating with other members of the design, hydraulic, structural, and thermal analysis teams.  This person must take ownership of the hydraulic system including meeting technical requirements, adhering to aggressive schedules, and supporting project cost objectives. Lead hydraulic engineering tasks including the design, analysis, manufacture, integration, and test of hydraulic components and subsystems Support and perform technical trade studies, develop hydraulic system architecture Apply sound engineering practices to develop concepts using CAD and mature designs that meet system requirements Support technical peer, table-top, and internal/external design reviews Create and maintain Technical Data Package (TDP) artifacts, including CAD models, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), specifications, test procedures and reports Communicate and collaborate effectively with design, analysis, fabrication, test, and program management teams to resolve challenges and complete tasks on schedule Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university BS + 4 years progressive hydraulics engineering experience or MS +
