Company: Qualcomm Incorporated Job Area: Legal Group, Legal Group > Legal Counsel General Summary: Qualcomm is looking for an attorney for its in-house legal department supporting its automotive business. The successful candidate will focus primarily on commercial transactions in a technology-based environment – negotiating, drafting, and analyzing a wide variety of sales, technology, software licensing, cloud services, supply and procurement agreements. Additionally, the attorney in this role will advise automotive clients on issues related to legal and regulatory risks associated with its various automotive software and hardware products, including automated driving systems, advanced driver assistance systems, and the use of AI in Qualcomm’s automotive products. The successful candidate also will advise and counsel clients on process issues, business strategies, and general legal risks related to its various products and businesses. We are looking for candidates that have a wide span of automotive manufacturing and/or automotive software, semiconductor and/or supply chain legal experience. We also are seeking candidates that are proactive, bring a practical approach to legal guidance, are willing to support global regions including Europe, North America (pacific and eastern time zones) and Asia. The successful candidate also must be detail-driven, collaborative and willing to work cross-functionally. The Qualcomm Legal Team values integrity, high performance and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Minimum Qualifications: • Juris Doctorate degree or international equivalent. • 8+ years of relevant experience as counsel at a law firm or in-house. • Active bar license to practice law in the state or jurisdiction where the employee will be practicing (or ability to obtain upon hiring). **Position requires to be onsite in office, 5 days a week General Responsibilities: Draft and negotiate a wide variety of transactional agreements involving automotive software and hardware products including issues related to software licensing, intellectual property rights, data, and use of AI in product offerings. Provide legal advice and support to the business unit, including sales, marketing, communications, product management, operations, engineering and finance. Assist in global automotive matters as needed, including issues related to automotive regulations, connected vehicles, motor vehicle safety, marketing, communications, and the like. Additional Preferred Requirements: 8-15 years prior experience, preferably in an automotive environment with a technology-focused background. Juris Doctorate degree with excellent academic credentials. Demonstrated experience negotiating and drafting complex technology agreements. Excellent organizational skills with attention to details.
