Job Description
Coordinates and manages all activities associated with applicable business segment, including the credit approval process, policy and procedural compliance and portfolio risk management, credit monitoring, and reporting. Approves the extension of credit, including overdrafts, for clients of the highest complexity within prescribed approval authorities. Leads strategic discussions in committees (Credit Risk, Data Governance etc.); reviews validation outputs on data produced and delivered. Has final approval authority on an obligor's risk rating. Maintains expert knowledge on economic, regulatory, and other trends affecting borrowers and initiates relevant analyses by leveraging key analytic partners to determine potential impacts on policy and root causes in portfolio issues to effectively manage credit portfolios. Responsible for compliance with regulatory guidance. Ensures effective credit monitoring by the team leveraging relevant reporting and assessing trends to identify risk incidences, requests ad - hoc analytics and analyzes output to inform decision - making. Documents and reports, until resolved, all credit exceptions and prepares various management summary reports. Directs the credit policy function and credit transaction models and collaborates with first line of defense on strategic agenda to grow business with acceptable return on capital. Responsible for adherence to policy and model management processes and monitors the performance of the function to manage expected outcomes. Directs, motivates, develops, and oversees the performance of a team of senior staff.
