Quality Job Code:                                 OPSMFIO147 Reports To:                              Quality Manager     Department Name/Number: Quality/ 166529050Q Manager Approval:                Quality Manager   Next Level Approval:              Director, Operations   Updated:                                  June 24, 2025     Shift: M-F Pay: The Virginia base pay rate for this position is $20.50 per hour.  Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position.   This position is responsible for performing inbound inspections of raw materials and purchased finished products. Additional duties may include performing tests on Incoming soaps/sanitizers/aerosols as needed.  The successful candidate will sample product based on AQL sampling method and inspect for any defects or deviations from drawing/document standards.  The candidate will also support evaluation of new products and inbound raw materials. If issues are found, the Incoming Inspector will document the nonconformance and communicate with details, and may be asked to assist in quality investigations, issue resolution, collecting, recording, tracking and monitoring data.  The candidate will also be an integral part of the Newell PEAK program, supporting systems and initiatives.   Responsibilities:

Inspect, test or measure products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications. Update inspection database with results when required.                                                                                                                                                                                               Perform random inspections to AQL standards of purchased products and inbound raw materials. Perform performance testing of outsourced products and raw materials for new products. Prepare nonconformance reports for internal/external distribution. Lead issue resolution investigations and line testing as necessary. Track reports and identify suppliers with outstanding non-compliance issues. Coordinate and oversee quality rework related to labeling packaging/repackaging issues. Provide input for vendor charge backs. Maintain a safe and accident-free environment by adhering to all safety standards and regulations, and identify safety issues and report to supervisor or management Engage in PEAK activities to eventually include system ownership Other duties as assigned to support business needs

Qualifications

High school Diploma or equivalent experience required. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with basic math skills. Able to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and other product standards. Problem solving and organizational skills including strong attention to detail.  Ability to prioritize one’s own work in a fast-paced, date-driven environment. Ability to maintain
