Job Description

AECOM's Water group in BC is growing! We are searching for an Electrical Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for a full-time position supporting our municipal water infrastructure team. This is a full-time position based in our Burnaby, BC office. The responsibilities of this position include: Deliver EI&C engineering for municipal infrastructure projects across Western Canada, working independently and in coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Design and develop electrical systems and documentation, including power distribution, grounding, lighting, cable systems, drives, standby power, and low-voltage systems (fire alarm, telecom, security). Specify process instrumentation and control systems for municipal and industrial applications. Provide electrical discipline leadership on small to mid-sized projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and sound engineering practices. Collaborate closely with Project Managers, technical leads, and designers to coordinate deliverables and support overall project execution. Ensure quality and consistency of deliverables through adherence to AECOM standards, QA/QC procedures, and client requirements. Support and mentor junior team members, coordinating workloads and contributing to efficient project delivery.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, from a recognized/accredited post-secondary institution 4+ years of related industry and engineering design experience in a multi-disciplinary electrical, instrumentation & control environment; Registered Professional in Canada (EGBC preferred) Applicable experience in electrical related design and commissioning, preferably encompassing electrical distribution systems and DCS or PLC control systems, motor control and variable speed drives, and instrumentation & control systems for municipal or light industrial environment Preferred qualifications: Experience related to water/wastewater (ie treatment plants) ideally with municipal projects but will consider also relevant industrial experience in electrical power distribution. Perform electrical system studies and calculations. Proficient in use of AGi32, EasyPower / ETAP other design tools (REVIT MEP) will be a desirable asset. Proven track record in design and production of tender documents such as P&IDs, single line diagrams, control and communication system diagrams, electrical and instrument location drawings, loop & schematic wiring diagrams; developing equipment load schedules, cable & tray calculations, instrumentation list and specifications sheets, standard details; contract specifications, electrical studies and reports; Familiar with the Canadian
