A Day in the Life Job Specific Summary At Medtronic, our Mission is to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life. Within our Structural Heart business, we are advancing life‑changing therapies for patients with complex heart conditions. We are seeking a Market Development Consultant to lead our TAVR Referring HCP strategy. This role is ideal for a strategic, execution‑focused marketing leader with the ability to shape end‑to‑end market development strategy, indication expansion launch execution, and partner closely with U.S. and global field teams. The position offers high visibility and the opportunity to influence cross‑functional and business leadership while advancing access to care for our patients. A Day in the Life: This role is responsible for developing and executing strategies that strengthen awareness and engagement among referring cardiologists for heart valve therapies. This role focuses on driving initiatives that expand referral pathways, improve patient access to therapies, while addressing common barriers to TAVR therapy. Develop and lead referring audience market development strategy Engage referring physicians and general cardiologists to generate insights on strategies and tactics for addressing barriers to treatment. Lead development and execution of market research to establish baselines and understand future impact of messaging on referring physicians. Develop relevant and impactful content for educating referring audiences to address specific barriers to treatment of AS. Partner with integrated marketing partners to bring to life strategy and execute across highest-impact marketing channels. Define key operational, leading, and lagging metrics to capture and measure impact of omnichannel marketing activities. Lead cross-functional indication expansion commercial strategy Develop and drive the execution of the launch plan, inclusive of internal and external stakeholders. Develop and lead operating mechanisms required to gain key stakeholder alignment and execution of deliverables to achieve project milestones. Define key success metrics and measure impact.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred. 7+ years of experience in marketing, product management, sales, consulting, or related commercial roles (or 5+ years with an advanced degree). Proven market development or commercial marketing experience with ownership of strategy development and execution. Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functional and field stakeholders. Strong analytical, storytelling, and executive communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in global, highly matrixed organizations. Medical device, healthcare, or Structural Heart experience. Strong project management skills and planning excellence. Strong communication skills with ability to tailor communications to a wide range of stakeholders. Strategic Thinking & Judgment: Ability to frame ambiguous problems, assess trade-offs, and recommend clear paths forward aligned to business priorities. Consultative Mindset: Skilled at diagnosing stakeholder needs, asking the right questions, and tailoring solutions rather than prescribing one-size-fits-all approaches.
