Mechanic

FNF Construction, a MasTec company, is currently hiring for a Crusher Mechanic. The Mechanic is responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining and servicing fleet heavy equipment and vehicles Company Overview FNF Construction, Inc., a MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure (CE&I) company, has delivered high-quality construction services since 1984. Specializing in heavy highway construction and general engineering, we operate primarily throughout the Southwest as a general contractor, subcontractor, and producer of aggregate and asphaltic concrete. Our collaborative, partnership-driven approach has built long-standing relationships with both public and private clients across projects of varying size and complexity. Be knowledgeable of the hazards and safety requirements of the job, and utilize required personal protective equipment (welder’s shield, etc.). Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Examine critical parts and operating components of heavy equipment for possible wear and tear, defects, or other damage. Perform routine maintenance checks on company owned and/or leased vehicles and equipment to ensure safety and longevity of the vehicle/equipment. Repair, replace, clean, and lubricate vehicle/equipment parts as necessary. Examine, and repair, if necessary, hydraulic components for fluid leaks, ruptured hoses, or worn gaskets. Use hand-held computers or other diagnostic devices to diagnose components in need of adjustment or repair. Use jacks, cranes, and various hand-held tools to dismantle and reassemble parts. May be required to rebuild or replace engines, repair hydraulic fluid pumps, correct electrical problems. Ability to operate various types of light and heavy equipment and over the road trucks for maneuvering into service and repair locations. Travel to job site to make repairs to heavy equipment as necessary. All other duties as assigned. Must have a mechanical aptitude. Working knowledge of diesel engine repair. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to locate, read, understand and follow instructions outlined in SDS material safety data sheets. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be available to work overtime as required for position. Must be able to work safely and follow all instructions related to Company policies and regulatory agencies during the performance of duties. Maintains a safe work environment and ensures all established Company safety rules, procedures, policies, DOT, OSHA and MSHA regulations are followed.
