Basic Job Functions:
The Cold Mill Day Supervisor is responsible for developing a plan for the department, working with the Cold Mill leadership team to achieve zero injuries, coach and develop our team, and continuously improve the process. This position could be for the cold mill or for the galvanizing lines. The Cold Mill Day Supervisor is responsible for motivating teammates, defining expectations, and ensuring those expectations are met. This person is responsible for communicating the goals of the department and the plant and developing a plan for the crew to achieve those goals. Must be willing to actively participate in meetings and activities before, during, and after regularly scheduled work hours. Able to work rotating shifts and scheduled/unscheduled overtime including nights, weekends and holidays. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years prior supervisory experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Five years Cold Mill or galvanizing line experience
Two years Nucor Supervisory experience
Four-year BS or BA degree
