Our Landing Systems division is seeking a Plater responsible for performing mechanical blasting and preparation of parts for processing lines such as chrome, nickel, cadmium, and others. Duties include sandblasting, degreasing, stop‑off, racking components, and ensuring parts are properly prepared for finishing operations. Position is 100% onsite at our Opa Locka (Miami), FL. Work Shift: Second Shift is 2:45pm- 11:15pm AM Monday – Friday Overtime as business needs determine Training will take place for 4-8 weeks on First Shift, 5:45am - 2:15 pm, Monday –Friday What You Will Do Install bushings, bearings, sleeves, and metal shims on all aircraft programs according to the overhaul manual specifications, using machinery and hydraulic presses Utilize close tolerance measuring instruments to assure compliance with CMM specifications Operate honing machinery and devices, including mill machinery for swaging of bearings Utilize close tolerance measuring instruments to assure compliance with CMM specifications Perform final inspection and stocking of bushings Train employees on all required processes within the department, and lead the team and operations in the department in the absence of the Group Leader when required Execute bush bore functions utilizing light machining. (Lathe/bush work) Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline Ability to interpret blueprints Ability to use all necessary close tolerance measurement instruments with proficiency Basic computer skills Qualifications We Prefer Experience with SAP Experience in honing or turret lathe operation
