Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. $10,000 sign on bonus (external candidates only) Labcorp is seeking a Histology Team Lead - Renal to join our team at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 6am - 2:30pm Job Responsibilities Assist the supervisor with the day to day operations of the Histology department Assist with the training of new hires and the development of current employees Keep supervisor informed of group progress, problems, employee performance and any significant factors affecting assigned responsibilities Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment Handles point for all kidney biopsy procedures Works with Hematology Chair to update and maintain all SOPs in coordination with Renal Biopsies Communicates procedures and changes to Renal team Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Histology, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology 3 years of experience or more as a Histotechnologist Preferred Qualifications 3 months or more of Immunohistochemistry experience Histology and/or ASCP certifications 6 months or more of supervising or leading a team   Additional Job Standards In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment Comfortability embedding both large and small specimens Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment Ability to work independently and within a team environment Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position Able to pass a standardized color blindness test Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs At Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
