The Opportunity

This role is an opportunity to contribute to the AGO GEO SPACES project by delivering outcomes that matter. You will work with engineering, operational and customer stakeholders to understand priorities, solve problems and support delivery of advanced national security technology solutions in a secure, high‑compliance environment. In this role, you will:  Lead a high-performing systems administration team responsible for the sustainment and availability of critical enterprise platforms.    Drive operational excellence by coordinating major incident response, optimising service delivery and ensuring critical customer outcomes are achieved.   Influence technical strategy, governance and service performance while working closely with engineering operational and customer stakeholders.   Provide leadership coverage for the Maintenance Lead and mentor and develop technical professionals across the maintenance function.   The technical environment includes Mixed ecosystems spanning Linux enterprise deployments (RHEL and Windows Server environments.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings judgement, curiosity and a collaborative approach to work that matters.  Essential for this role:  Demonstrated experience in a technical team leadership capacity within a complex enterprise environment.   Proven track record in ITIL-aligned incident coordination and service delivery management.   Strong communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex engineering challenges into clear management summaries.   Experience working on Australian Defence or Intelligence Community capability sustainment contracts.   Advantageous, but not essential:  Technical certifications demonstrating a foundational background in Linux, Windows or cloud/virtualisation technologies.
