As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Banking Trust and Security Technology, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Kubernetes (EKS) and ECS Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and system Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration management Implement logging and tracing using ELK Stack, Splunk, Dynatrace, and AWS CloudWatch Collaborate with development teams to trouble shoot and ensure smooth deployment and operation of applications Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software development lifecycle Ensure disaster recovery strategies are in place using multi-region deployments, backups, and failover mechanisms Evaluate (Continuously) and implement modern technologies and tools to improve operational efficiency Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering and/or DevOps Experience in Java, Spring Boot or scripting languages such as Bash, Shell, and Python Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security. Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices. Strong expertise in AWS services including EC2, S3, EKS, ECS Fargate, VPC, IAM, and networking Atlas 2.0 Proven track record of building and managing continual automation deployment delivery environments Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure as code Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and (ECS) for container orchestration Proven track record designing and implementing comprehensive observability solutions (metrics, logging, tracing, alerting) and automating complex CI/CD workflows using Jenkins, Spinnaker, or similar platforms Experience with security best practices in cloud environments Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Experience with any rule engines such as IBM ODM Worked with IBM ODM deployment and Containerization Experience with AI and Copilot concepts
