AP Accountant with Romanian language This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with a requirement that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Management Level Definition: Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues. The Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant function will be responsible for local language invoice handling, interpretation and decision regarding country-specific accounting and tax regulations, processing supporting documentation in compliance with local legislation.

Process timely and accurately AP and AR invoices, expense reports and all other kinds of accounting documents in compliance with applicable corporate policies and accounting standards. Ensures all bookings are properly documented in compliance with relevant statutory requirements and corporate policies. Timely and accurate preparation and submission of all required statistical reports and filings. Prepares ad hoc reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing accounting data. Interacts with Head of accounting to ensure timely booking of all monthly transactions in regard with MEC and deadlines set. Interacts with Internal and External Auditors (in coordination with Country Finance Controller and Head of Accounting) in order to prepare required reports and to provide explanations on accounting transactions. Provides advice and support to BUs/Global Functions on tax and accounting related issues and queries. Respond to any accounting related queries coming from employees and customers.

Required: First level university degree with a focus in business or economics; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) preferred. Typically 4+ years of experience within accounting. Typically experienced in more than one finance function. Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis. Romanian and English language are required Very good knowledge local tax and accounting legislation Strong analytical skills. Strong business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SAP). Strong communication and influencing skills. Excellent teamwork skills Good business acumen.
