The Opportunity
The Class A Commercial Driver position involves driving a company tractor and trailer to deliver products to our customers. Driver routes will typically be 4-10 stops per route, will require the driver to unload via lift gate with pallet jack, and transport/place palletized products inside the customers’ location. Drivers will be expected to use ELD and log all activity and follow all state and federal regulations. Routes are generally <150 miles round trip but could be longer including interstate depending on DC location. Shift: Mon-Fri, 5am –7am start time with avg 10-hr days, home every night (anything over 8hrs/day is overtime) How you will impact Smurfit Westrock : Safely operates tractor and trailer for the delivery of products and materials. Perform vehicle inspections as required. Operate mobile apps on the phone for ELD and proof of delivery. Provide outstanding customer service during delivery. Follow all safety rules for equipment and material handling as required by DOT, OSHA and Company safety program. Ensure all orders are delivered in good condition and in full as per the bill of lading. Communicate effectively with operations staff about customer concerns. Utilize material handling equipment, such hand trucks. What you need to succeed: Current CDL Class A license No preventable motor vehicle violations within the last 12 months Current medical certification card. One or more years’ experience driving a tractor trailer. General fluency in English required, verbal and written Basic computer literacy preferred High school diploma or equivalent Basic computer literacy preferred High school diploma or equivalent preferred Offload Driver Assist 80/20 Electric Pallet Jack Customer Facing Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
