We're seeking a Principal Field Service Engineer to join our Commercial Engines Customer Technical Services team, supporting the global PW2000 and PW4000 engine fleet. This is a highly visible technical role where you'll partner directly with airline customers, maintenance organizations, and internal engineering teams to solve complex operational challenges, improve fleet reliability, and represent Pratt & Whitney as a trusted technical advisor.

What You Will Do

Serve as the primary technical advisor for airline customers and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facilities supporting the global PW2000 and PW4000 engine fleet, providing expertise in fan, compressor, mechanical systems, and nacelle components. Lead complex engine event investigations, perform root cause analyses, and develop technical solutions that improve fleet reliability, safety, and operational performance. Partner with cross-functional engineering, Product Safety, Certification & Validation, and airframer teams to resolve technical issues, support engine modifications, and maintain continued airworthiness. Develop and review Engineering Authorizations (EAs), Special Instructions, and maintenance documentation while contributing to updates for engine manuals and other technical publications. Provide timely technical support for Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) events and other critical operational issues, collaborating with airline engineers, maintenance teams, and Pratt & Whitney Field Service Representatives. Identify recurring fleet trends and recommend process and product improvements that enhance customer support, engine reliability, and operational efficiency. Occasional weekend and after-hours support are required to assist with urgent customer needs and Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) events. Approximately 5% domestic and international travel is required for customer meetings, technical conferences, and safety or operational event investigations.

Qualifications

You Must Have: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and 8 years of aerospace engineering experience; or an Advanced degree in a related field with 5 years of aerospace engineering experience.
