Lead Architect - Oceania Tax Technology - CTO Tax Office - EY Rank of Senior Manager or Associate Director   The opportunity   Are you ready to lead the transformation of enterprise architecture and cutting-edge technology solutions? EY Oceania Tax Technology is looking for a Lead Architect to join the Office of the CTO and help drive our vision across a dynamic portfolio.    As our Lead Architect, you will play a pivotal role in defining and governing end-to-end architecture, balancing solution and infrastructure design, and ensuring delivery excellence for EY clients. We seek a visionary leader who thrives in complex environments, is passionate about emerging technologies, and is committed to delivering long-term value.  This is your chance to work at the forefront of cloud, AI, generative AI, agentic systems, and the Microsoft technology stack, influencing business strategy and delivering practical, scalable, and secure architectures.   This is a hybrid position based in Naarm – Melbourne, Meanjin – Brisbane, Warrang – Sydney.   Your key responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of an architecture vision and roadmap that aligns with business goals, technology strategies, and global standards. Architect and govern scalable cloud-based solutions, especially leveraging the Microsoft stack and Azure, while promoting modern engineering practices. Oversee data, AI, and emerging technologies by ensuring responsible AI practices, regulatory compliance, and the creation of self-service tools. Establish and manage architecture governance and quality processes, including design reviews, standards compliance, and risk escalation. Provide technical leadership, engage senior stakeholders, and mentor architects and engineers to ensure effective communication and successful delivery of architectural decisions.

Skills and attributes for success

Extensive experience in senior solution architecture or software architecture roles within complex environments. Strong cloud architecture experience, with Azure strongly preferred. React &/or Angular for web front-end. Proven experience designing large scale, multi-tenant, fault tolerant, and highly available systems. Strong understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous architectures, and security by design. Experience designing and delivering AI, machine learning, or generative AI solutions. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and guide senior stakeholders.
