Within the Materials & Structural Analysis Division (MSD) – Electron Microscopy business, you'll work with industry-leading electron microscopy technologies that support groundbreaking research and innovation across academia, government, life sciences, and industrial markets. Our customers rely on our solutions to accelerate scientific discovery, improve manufacturing processes, and develop the technologies of tomorrow. How will you make an impact? As the Field Service Supervisor – Electron Microscopy , you will lead a team of highly skilled Field Service Engineers responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing sophisticated electron microscopy systems across Australia and New Zealand. You will combine strong people leadership with technical expertise to deliver exceptional customer service, ensure operational excellence, and drive continuous improvement across the service organization. Working closely with customers, commercial teams, technical support, and global service functions, you will foster a high-performing team while ensuring customer satisfaction, safety, and compliance with Thermo Fisher Scientific's quality standards. What will you do? Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Field Service Engineers to achieve outstanding customer outcomes and business objectives. Plan and coordinate field service activities, ensuring effective resource allocation and timely customer support. Drive service excellence by monitoring operational performance, productivity, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide technical guidance and escalation support for complex instrument installations, maintenance, and repair activities. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and long-term partnership. Collaborate with Sales, Applications, Technical Support, and Operations teams to deliver seamless customer experiences. Ensure compliance with company quality systems, safety requirements, and regulatory standards. Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives that enhance service efficiency and operational performance. Promote a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, accountability, and customer focus.

Required Qualifications

Advanced Degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with at least 5 years of technical field service experience supporting complex scientific or analytical instrumentation. Degree in Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering, Physics, or another related technical discipline. Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience managing technical service teams. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Experience supporting electron microscopy or other advanced analytical or scientific instrumentation is highly desirable. Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex electromechanical systems.
