Manager – Commercial Diligence - Industrials Full job description We are seeking an experienced team member with expertise in Commercial Due Diligence, Strategy Consulting, and Industrials sector research to join our Industrials CDD practice. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a leading firm while playing a pivotal role in the growth of our Industrials practice. As a member of our EY-Parthenon Commercial Due Diligence (CDD) team, you will work closely with private equity investors and corporate clients to evaluate investment opportunities across industrial products, manufacturing, distribution, packaging, automotive, transportation & logistics, engineering services, and related end markets. The role requires a hands-on approach to diligence execution and the ability to independently drive key workstreams from hypothesis generation through final recommendations. Your key responsibilities:
Utilize an "answer-first" approach to lead commercial diligence engagements and growth strategy engagements for private equity and corporate clients. Independently own and drive critical diligence workstreams, including market assessment, growth outlook, customer analysis, competitive benchmarking, and target positioning. Lead day-to-day CDD execution, develop hypotheses, structure analyses, manage junior team members, and synthesize findings into client-ready recommendations. Conduct detailed market and value chain assessments across Industrials end markets, identifying growth drivers, margin dynamics, competitive intensity, and key transaction risks. Review transaction rationale to identify critical business issues, commercial risks, and value creation opportunities relating to proposed investments. Support management interviews, expert calls, customer research, and triangulation of multiple data sources to develop evidence-based conclusions. Support business development activities by leading pursuits and strengthening relationships with existing clients. Participate in building a sector-focused Industrials practice and contribute to knowledge development, credentials, and thought leadership within the Industrials sector. Collaborate effectively with global stakeholders across cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
To qualify for the role, you must have
Strategy Consulting, Commercial Due Diligence, or Transaction Advisory experience with leading consulting firms, including Big 4, MBB, and boutique consulting firms. Demonstrated experience delivering Commercial Due Diligence, growth strategy, market assessment, or transaction-related engagements. Relevant sector experience in Industrials, including industrial products, manufacturing, building products, packaging, automotive, engineered products, or industrial services. Proven ability to independently manage workstreams, supervise analysts, and deliver high-quality outputs with limited oversight. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess industries, markets, competitors, customers, and value chains to identify investment risks and opportunities.
Ideal candidate profile
7 - 9 years of experience in Commercial Due Diligence, Strategy Consulting, or Transaction Strategy. Strong understanding of Industrials markets and business models. Experience working on multiple buy-side / Sell side Commercial Due Diligence engagements. Comfortable operating in fast-paced private equity timelines. Able to independently structure problems, manage stakeholders, and translate analyses into actionable investment insights. Demonstrated ability to coach
