JOB SUMMARY
The Vice President, On-Site Digital Products is responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and execution of Marriott's customer facing digital products and experiences for the stay. This global portfolio includes products such as digital arrivals, mobile key, guest communication and messaging, Wi-Fi, and in-room digital experiences. The role is accountable for driving guest satisfaction, business growth, including digital engagement, owner value, and operational efficiency through digital innovation, exceptional customer experiences, and strategies and execution paradigms that predict and respond to today’s rapidly changing environment, including but not limited to AI evolutions.
This leader manages a team of product managers, fostering a high-performing, outcome-oriented product organization while driving product excellence, talent development, and innovation.
This role will report to the SVP, Digital Products.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
12+ years’ experience in digital product strategy, management, or operational leadership positions, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.
Experience managing and defining transformational strategies, specifically as they relate to bringing the digital and physical worlds together via consumer-facing digital experiences and/or products.
Demonstrated ability to deliver customer and business results.
Four-year degree from an accredited university; advanced degree in business management preferred.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Leading On-site Digital Product Strategy and Delivering Product Outcome
Develops the digital stay strategy, including the key customer, owner, and business outcomes the team focuses on, and identifies the core opportunities or problems to solve to drive those outcomes.
Uses data and ensures continuous product discovery to guide where the team focuses to drive customer and business outcomes.
Works with internal teams, including engineers, UX, other disciplines across Marriott, partners, and software providers to ensure delivery of high-quality experiences, with a focus on time to market and value creation.
Manages products throughout the lifecycle, taking a rapid, agile delivery approach with test-and-learn development methodologies.
Responsible for partnering with internal teams to ensure communication and deployment of digital products at hotels.
Communicates a clear and consistent message regarding departmental goals to produce desired results internally, across global and continent stakeholders, and to hotel communication channels.
Makes recommendations and executes the necessary decisions to keep products moving forward toward achievement of goals. Partners with other Digital product teams and other disciplines to develop, promote, support, and deploy products in market. Ensures ongoing performance of OSD technology at hotels.
Identifying Trends and Managing Profitability
Identifies and shares emerging consumer experience and competitive trends.
In partnership with engineering and UX team members, stays up to date on emerging technologies.
Continually analyzes performance and identifies issues and trends to be solved and prioritized in ongoing product roadmaps.
Reviews and audits budgets with a view on business viability, Opex/Capex, and TCO.
Leading Product Teams
Interviews and hires employees.
Promotes the fair and equitable treatment of employees.
Facilitates regular, ongoing communication within the department (e.g., staff meetings).
Sets goals and expectations for direct reports using the performance review process and holds staff accountable for performance goals.
Utilizes an “open-door policy” and reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.
Promotes adherence to policies consistently, follows disciplinary procedures, documents items according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs), and
