How you’ll make a difference. Play a leading role in the delivery of electrical engineering design packages for a variety of interesting projects ranging from underground copper/gold hard rock mining to transport and water infrastructure projects. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will apply your technical expertise across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to detailed design and construction support with minimal supervision. You will be a key technical contributor within a multidisciplinary consulting team, taking ownership of complex electrical designs including:- Project Areas Surface and underground material handling, ventilation systems, fixed plant, and associated infrastructure typical of hard rock metalliferous mining environments Intelligent transport system and lighting designs for transport infrastructure projects Pump stations and water/waste-water plants for a range of water infrastructure projects Skills Produce/Lead the delivery of detailed electrical designs, equipment layouts, and engineering drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, client specifications, and applicable regulations and codes Develop and manage 3D plant models and coordinate discipline clash detection using Navisworks or equivalent federated modelling tools Apply an understanding of underground hard rock mining systems including ore handling (crushers, conveyor systems, ore passes, winders/hoists), dewatering, ventilation systems, workshops and fixed plant Interpret mechanical, civil, and structural interfaces to produce fully coordinated electrical designs appropriate for underground environments Manage and control drawing registers, model deliverables, and document workflows Participate in internal design reviews, checking your own and junior staff work for technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance prior to issue Provide technical mentorship and guidance to cadet and intermediate designers within the team Liaise directly with project engineers, project managers, and client representatives to manage design deliverables, resolve technical queries, and ensure on-time delivery Develop and maintain equipment libraries for electrical equipment Qualifications The qualities that help you thrive Demonstrated ability to work autonomously on complex electrical design tasks with minimal direction from senior engineers Strong understanding electrical design principles Familiarity with underground hard rock mining operations, equipment, and the practical constraints of designing for confined, remote, and hazardous environments would be advantageous High proficiency in 2D drafting and 3D modelling with a consistent record of low error rates and thorough self-checking Collaborative and communicative,
