Responsible for managing health problems and coordinating age appropriate health care to the patient. Part of the innovative care team that will meet the individual needs of the patients and their family. Functions independently and under a collaborative agreement with the supervising physician and receives administrative supervision from a clinical departmental director. Practices in accordance with hospital rules and regulations and the applicable professional standards of care providing evidence-based, age appropriate care. Included in their scope of practice is performing histories, examinations, ordering appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures along with prescribing pharmalogical and non-pharmalogical interventions. Manages chronic patient conditions and is instrumental in providing patient/family education. Active as a respected member of the healthcare team designed to meet the individual needs of the patient and their family. Takes key responsibility as a patient advocate and ensuring referral of the patient when necessary.Provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable Texas laws and regulations governing Physician Assistants and Texoma Medical Center's clinical polices, procedures, and standards of care.
