The Project Controls Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the successful execution of electric distribution infrastructure projects. This position develops, implements, and coordinates planning, estimating, cost control, performance reporting, and data analytics processes. In addition to core project controls responsibilities, the role strengthens the team’s ability to extract, transform, validate, analyze, and visualize data from enterprise systems so leaders and project teams can act on reliable, decision-ready information. The Controls Specialist helps ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives while advancing reporting automation, continuous improvement, process standardization, and team development.
Lead detailed analyses of project progress, schedule, and budget. Track milestones and deliverables across stakeholder groups. Monitor expenditures, conduct variance analysis, and provide accurate forecasting. Deliver actionable insights and status reports to cross-functional teams and leadership, highlighting trends, risks, drivers, recommended actions, and decision needs.
Extract, validate, and analyze enterprise data to identify trends, exceptions, and data-quality issues. Develop repeatable analytical workflows, reports, and dashboards that reduce manual effort and improve visibility into project cost, schedule, resources, materials, and performance.
Identify and mitigate project risks. Manage change orders and events by assessing impacts on budget, scope, schedule, resources, and forecast, while ensuring proper ownership, documentation, and approvals.
Create and maintain process maps and documentation for estimating, scheduling, reporting, and change management workflows. Promote clarity and consistency across teams.
Support training and mentoring of team members. Drive continuous improvement through best practices and lessons learned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
