Finance Manager, Sort Center Finance - Middle Mile

North American Sort centers are part of the Amazon Transportation Services which enables next day free delivery for Prime members and seven days a week delivery for our customers. Sort Centers are part of the middle-mile operation; every day several million packages from multiple fulfillment centers across the US and Canada arrive in one of the ~100 sort centers where they are sorted to specific last mile delivery locations, in effect consolidating volumes going to the same place, which improves truck utilization and reduces transportation costs. Since launching operations in 2013, we have provided billions of dollars of savings to Amazon, improved shipping times for our customers and enabled delivery seven days a week - our growing presence in logistics space led Amazon to be one of the top 5 logistic operators in the US. The North American Sort Center team is responsible for the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), investment strategy and new transportation initiatives for this operation. The candidate will work with multiple cross-functional teams from Operations, HR, Capacity Planning, Long Term Planning, FP&A, and Tech teams to focus on creating continuous improvement opportunities across internal and external stakeholders to define, design, and maintain performance measurements, reporting and reviews. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity to lead root-cause analysis and uncover core issues to drive cost reductions with stakeholders, manage, evaluate and create meaningful business reporting, and build and maintain complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance.
