Job Summary

Join Caterpillar's Electric Power Division as a Manufacturing Engineer supporting the production of Caterpillar Switchgear. In this role, you will drive automation, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives within a highly technical manufacturing environment. Working alongside operations, quality, and engineering teams, you'll leverage manufacturing technology, data analytics, and automation solutions to improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance. What You Will Do

Drive automation and digital manufacturing initiatives that improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency. Lead process improvement projects focused on manufacturing throughput, equipment performance, and production velocity. Design and optimize manufacturing processes, assembly lines, and automated systems to support business growth and operational excellence. Utilize data analytics tools, including Power BI and Power Platform applications, to identify trends, measure performance, and support decision-making. Partner with cross-functional teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges and implement sustainable solutions. Support automated equipment, controls, robotics, and emerging manufacturing technologies to enhance operational capabilities. Manage manufacturing engineering projects from concept through implementation, including capital investments and process improvements. Develop and maintain manufacturing standards, procedures, documentation, and technical specifications. Apply critical thinking and engineering expertise to identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and continuous improvement. Support future-state manufacturing strategies through automation, standardization, and workforce cross-training initiatives. Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field OR equivalent manufacturing engineering experience. What You Will Have Automation: Working knowledge of techniques and processes of automation; ability to develop and deploy automation solutions to improve manufacturing processes. Evaluates manufacturing operations to identify automation and process improvement opportunities. Implements and supports automation technologies to enhance manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
