The Impact You’ll Make in this Role When you join the Platform Engineering, Developer Services team, you become a crucial part of 3 M’s digital transformation. You will substantially contribute to the delivery of applications and services that benefit 3M customers . You will develop the facilities used to manage Cloud and the DevOps platform used by developers to build and deploy applications. As a Senior Software Engineer in Developer Services, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people from around the world. Your contribution :
Key Responsibilities
Leadership: Independently l ead large programs and initiatives . T echnical domain ownership . Coordinat e work across organizations and collaborat e with enterprise st akeholders. Architecture : Create and maintain enterprise reference architecture. Establish approved cloud, security , identity, observability, and pipeline patterns . Develop Paved Paths. Software Development: Build and maintain applications and their features. Lead development of a governed and industrialized AI-Augmented software deli very platform. Mentor : Coach engineers, architects, and technical leads on architecture, cloud patterns, Ai-augmented delivery, cloud security, and cost management . Effect change across the enterprise. Your Skills and Expertise: To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: High School Diploma (verified and completed prior to start) and Eight (8) years of experience in Information Technology, Computer Science in a private, public, government, or military environment. OR Bachelor's degree or higher (verified and completed prior to start) and Five (5) years of experience within the Information Technology or Computer Science field. AND Five (5) years of full-stack AWS Cloud Native application development, with Typescript and/or Python. IaC development in Typescript, CloudFormation, or Python in a private, public, government or military environment Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Strong written and verbal communicator with a collaborative, customer-focused mindset. Flexible and adaptable skillset to meet the growing challenges of a modernizing organization. Natural educator who enjoys mentoring others, ensuring their achievement. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Deep core software development skills. Strong understanding of software development methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines , GitHub Actions development, GitHub API use. Substantial experience working with identity ( authn / authz ) in AWS, Active Directory, Auth0, Cognito, OAuth/OIDC, Web Applications, and/or APIs. Work Location On-site in Maplewood, MN, or Austin, TX office at least 4 days per week Travel : May include up to 10% domestic/international Relocation Assistance : Is not authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
