Tax Services is a department within TD Wealth Private Trust, a key business unit within TD Wealth Private Wealth Management, which provides tax return preparation and planning for estates and trusts, high net worth individuals, and their families. Tax Services also provides bookkeeping and corporate tax services for clients with investment holding companies.
Job Description
Reporting to the Manager of Operations, with operational oversight by the Tax Administrator, the Tax Clerk is primarily responsible for supporting the tax administration team throughout the year. This role requires you to be on site at our TD Tower, Pacific Centre office location in Vancouver BC, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours a week) and may include working paid overtime of up to 10 hours/week, during the very fast-paced Personal Tax Filing Season (April). Key accountabilities include: Assisting the Tax Administrator with the processing of tax department fees, client tax payments and ensuring strip lists are completed accurately. Monitoring office phone lines and ensuring voicemails are responded to and/or forwarded to staff. Receiving tax correspondence for distribution to the appropriate team for review and action. Retrieving mail from the Post Office, including scanning, logging, and filing of the documents in the client folder, along with informing the tax team of any correspondence requiring immediate attention. Keeping internal control lists up to date and assisting Tax Administrator with monitoring the generic email boxes. Entering tax refunds into cheque logs, scanning, saving in client folder and sending to operations for deposit into client's bank account. Co-ordinating the quarterly tax instalment process, including review of amounts with CRA online. Planning and executing team gatherings, meetings, overtime meals, and other employee events. Ensuring policies, procedures, and instructions are always followed. Maintaining organization of the office, including mail and file rooms, including filing any hard copy items. Performing other duties and special projects as assigned. Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience: Effective time management, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written). Excellent computer skills, experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe Professional. Knowledge in Microsoft Copilot agents to automate tasks, save time, and improve productivity. Experience with CCH Taxprep software, CRA's EFILE Online and Represent a Client system. Background working in a professional tax services environment, preferred. Fluency in both English and French, an asset. Who We
