Make your mark in ER COE The Employee Relations Center of Expertise (ER COE) contributes to creating effective HR policies, practices and solutions that enable employee engagement and business success. The ER COE does this by being accessible and agile; fact-based in approach; global in principle and local in solution; proactive, pragmatic and risk appropriate. How you will create an impact As a member of the ER COE reporting to the Americas Head of ER, the ER Manager supports the delivery of the people strategy in the Americas region by providing technical ER knowledge and collaborating with HR and in region as well as with ER colleagues globally to deliver an ER program that is fit for purpose for assigned country (countries).
Responsibilities
Provide advice and risk mitigation strategies for complex employee issues and concerns (both individual and collective). Lead the strategic negotiation and administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), fostering constructive labor relations with the union leadership while ensuring alignment with the Company´s business objectives. Oversee the Company´s labor litigation portfolio by coordinating with external counsel and providing strategic direction on active employment disputes. Conduct and provide recommendations and reporting on timely and balanced investigations of employee issues within the Americas. Provide technical advice on business restructures. Partner with country and/or regional HRBPs to engage with and act as an advisor/expert about employee representative bodies in region. Partner with HR, Legal, Compliance, and business leaders on employee relation matters, disciplinary actions, performance plans and risk mitigation strategy. Provide regional/country perspective on global policy initiatives including localization requirements. Identify and leverage opportunities to harmonize divisional policies within countries in region to ensure a consistent offering, where possible. Engage effectively with stakeholders to identify and address their concerns regarding ER initiatives; develop robust projects and communication plans. Ensure ER alignment with other efforts across HR, divisions and/or the company. What you’ll need to succeed Fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish preferred Legal Degree with a concentration or solid experience in employment law and practices. Relevant ER experience including managing complex cases Ability to work with and mitigate risk associated with Union activities Project management capabilities Experience in transformational HR and business change (preferably in ER) a plus Experience in conducting internal investigations Experience in managing outside counsel on litigation and other employment matters Experience in handling employee transitions in M&A Knowledge of best practices in ER policies, practices and solutions Demonstrated ability to influence and build collaborative relationships Experience in managing senior-level relationships Strong drive for results Ability to deal with ambiguity Demonstrated organizational agility, planning and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with virtual teams At AIG, we value in-person collaboration as a vital part of our culture, which is why we ask our team members to be primarily in the office.
