Schedule: Varies by site; may include evenings, weekends, or holiday rotation What You’ll Do (Responsibilities) Perform final quality assurance and product verification for prescriptions processed through central fill automation before release. Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, completeness, and compliance with applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations. Monitor pharmacy automation systems, workflow queues, and production activity to support accurate and timely prescription fulfillment. Resolve prescription, workflow, inventory, labeling, or production issues in partnership with pharmacy leaders and support teams. Support a clean, organized, secure, and compliant pharmacy environment. Complete daily operational tasks such as workflow oversight, production monitoring, inventory support, and cycle count activities. Collaborate with internal departments, external vendors, supervisors, and the Pharmacist in Charge to support system updates, issue resolution, and operational improvements. Support compliance packaging and patient-specific accessibility labeling, including Braille, large-print, and audible label processes, as applicable. Provide timely, accurate, and professional support to patients, providers, business partners, and internal stakeholders. Assist with technician oversight, training, coaching, task delegation, and performance feedback in alignment with company policies and state regulations. Assume operational responsibility when needed during the absence of the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist in Charge.
Basic Requirements
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, consistent with Career Framework minimum education and typical experience guidance for P3 roles. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution. Active Pharmacist license in good standing in New Jersey at time of hire. Ability to obtain additional state pharmacist licensure as required by business needs. Experience verifying prescriptions, dispensing medications, or performing pharmacist quality checks in a pharmacy setting. Demonstrated ability to apply pharmacy laws, regulations, quality standards, and internal procedures in daily work. Preferred Skills/Experience Experience in a central fill, mail order, fulfillment, closed-door, specialty, or digital pharmacy environment. Experience working with pharmacy automation, production workflow systems, or high-volume prescription fulfillment processes. Strong clinical judgment, accuracy, and attention to detail in a fast-paced pharmacy setting. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, operations leaders, vendors, and cross-functional partners. Experience coaching, training, or providing day-to-day guidance to pharmacy technicians or support staff. Strong communication, problem-solving, prioritization, and customer service skills. Comfort supporting operational improvement initiatives, system updates, compliance documentation, inventory processes, or controlled substance procedures.
