JOB SUMMARY The Assistant Executive Housekeeper supports the Executive Housekeeper in the daily management and operation of the Housekeeping department, including guestrooms, public areas, recreation/health club facilities, and laundry operations where applicable. This role assists in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, maintenance, presentation, and service are consistently achieved in line with Marriott brand standards. The Assistant Executive Housekeeper plays a key role in driving guest satisfaction, team performance, operational efficiency, and cost control while supporting the overall success of the department. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Housekeeping Operations Management
Assist in the supervision of daily housekeeping operations across guestrooms, public areas, recreation facilities, and laundry areas as applicable. Ensure guest room status updates are communicated accurately and promptly to the Front Office team. Coordinate with the Engineering department to address maintenance issues and ensure timely resolution. Support the implementation and monitoring of cleaning schedules, productivity standards, and room assignments. Obtain and prioritize room cleaning assignments based on operational requirements, arrivals, departures, and guest needs. Ensure all guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas meet Marriott cleanliness and presentation standards. Conduct regular inspections of guestrooms, public areas, and employee areas to identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions. Ensure all housekeeping associates have the required supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms to perform their duties effectively.
Quality Assurance & Brand Standards
Support and maintain an effective inspection program to ensure consistent quality standards. Monitor compliance with departmental policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and Marriott brand standards. Identify opportunities to improve housekeeping processes, service delivery, and operational efficiency. Communicate quality concerns and follow up with team members to ensure corrective actions are completed. Maintain a strong focus on cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and attention to detail throughout the property.
Financial & Inventory Management
Assist in managing departmental expenses and controlling operational costs to achieve budget targets. Monitor consumption and usage of guest supplies, cleaning chemicals, linen, and uniforms. Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained. Assist with ordering housekeeping supplies, cleaning products, equipment, and uniforms. Support forecasting, budgeting, and payroll monitoring activities as required Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality and guest satisfaction.
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
Ensure guestrooms and public spaces are maintained to the highest standards to enhance guest satisfaction. Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and complaints. Support service recovery initiatives and follow through to ensure guest issues are resolved effectively. Encourage and empower associates to deliver exceptional service experiences. Promote a culture of guest-focused service and continuous improvement throughout the housekeeping team.
Leadership & Team Development
Assist in leading, motivating, and developing the housekeeping team to achieve operational excellence. Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and support to associates and supervisors. Conduct daily briefings and communicate departmental objectives, priorities, and service expectations. Support departmental training initiatives and ensure associates are knowledgeable of standards and procedures. Foster teamwork, collaboration, and a positive work environment that reflects Marriott's values and culture.
