What you’ll do: "We have an exciting opportunity for a Operations / Continuous Improvement Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of world class aerospace products. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in Aerospace Operations, working alongside experienced professionals and cross functions teams to ensure products are delivered on time, to cost and with the highest standards. Also, through promoting operational excellence in the deployment of the Eaton Continuous Improvement System (ECIS), aligning improvement strategies with plant objectives, and helping to promote a sustainable CI culture. From day one, you’ll be making a meaningful contribution to both in service and development products, gaining valuable insight into the Operational core processes of Aerospace manufacturing. The position supports the implementation of the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF), by facilitating and supporting Kaizen and Six Sigma projects, helping to integrate Eaton values and best practices into daily operations to achieve measurable business results. "Operational Activities: • Support production activities by collaborating with Production Supervisors, Manufacturing Engineers, and Material Planners to resolve issues and drive operational excellence • Early risk identification/mitigation and identification of opportunities, supporting with the achieving of budget and profit plan • Analyse manufacturing problems and provide solutions/guidance to the shop floor team • Support with interpreting manufacturing data eg drawings and test schedules to create manufacturing instructions • Provide technical advice and assistance on all assigned projects, engaging with subject matter experts and stakeholders from all functions as required • Review delivery performance and highlight candidates for assurance stock holding or kitting • Work alongside Material Planners to ensure accurate completion dates • WIP Management and accountability, including resolution and escalation • Issue resolution with cross functional delivery team, eg NCRs, emerging design issues, Stop Notes and FAIRs Continuous Improvement Activities: • Support the deployment of the Eaton Continuous Improvement System. Including 5s, visual management, process standardisation, standard work, gemba walks, and daily accountability) • Develop of knowledge of local continuous improvement tools and methodologies through shadowing, training and Eaton University courses. • Support the CI lead to mentor and coach the site through CI training and events • Implement and drive integration of best practices internally • Involvement in problem-solving activities and coordinating corrective action plans for operational problems • Supporting the CI lead in Business Process Improvement, Integrated Deck Building, and Rapid Improvement events • Support the CI lead to Value Stream Mapping events to identify opportunities for imrpvoement and the reduction of non-value-added activities at the plant " Qualifications: Currently pursing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing Management or a closely related field Skills: Manufacturing Management or Operations Management exposure is beneficial Some engineering experience by way of education or hobby interest Attention to detail, critical thinking, Good communication and networking skills, Autonomy, Team work, Work Ethic, Adaptability , Time management,
