This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Storage Engineer to design, implement, and manage our enterprise-level storage infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of our storage systems across hybrid cloud environments. You will lead storage architecture initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers to maintain a cutting-edge data management pipeline This individual sets the technical direction for the program, mentors engineering staff, leads major architecture and design reviews, and ensures that the delivered system complies with all relevant regulations, guidance, and DoD policies. What You’ll Get To Do: •  Design & Architecture: You get to blueprint scalable storage environments using technologies like SAN (Storage Area Network), NAS (Network-Attached Storage), and cloud systems (AWS, Azure, GCP). You'll map out how data flows and how it will scale to hold petabytes of information. •  Provisioning & Configuration: You will carve out, hook up, and allocate storage volumes or "LUNs" to servers, virtual machines, and databases so they have the speed and space they need. •  Data Protection & Disaster Recovery: You get to be the ultimate safety net. You will design backup schedules, set up replication across different data centers, and test disaster scenarios so the company can bounce back instantly if a server crashes. •  Infrastructure Automation: Modern storage engineers write scripts (using Python, PowerShell, or Bash) and use infrastructure-as-code tools (like Ansible or Terraform) so that storage can be spun up automatically without manual click-throughs •              Collaborate Across Disciplines – Work closely with product owners, data scientists, platform architects, and other systems engineers to align security requirements with mission objectives, performance, and schedule constraints.
