About this role
Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. Key job responsibilities In this role, you will drive the design, development, and operation of a variety of key functions such as Mode Management, telemetry, power control, and autonomous capabilities for each satellite throughout its lifetime – from launch to de-orbit. In this role, you will: Own unique software functions through design, implementation (in C, C++, RUST or other AWS technologies), test, and integration in Prod environment. Work closely with hardware teams for setup and verification, as well as integration and testing. Work on the Satellite Communication Systems Payload, Standard SDE position, embedded experience not required. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. About the team
Our team tackles many critical satellite functions including Payload Mode management, command & telemetry, and autonomous control. We are looking for an software engineer to participate in all phases of software development from requirements through implementation and test to operations.
